I am potty training my two year old...attempting to anyway.
He is resistent sometimes, sometimes not.
One minute he will announce, I gotta go pee.
The next minute he will sneak off to his hiding spot and go #2 in his pull-up.
Then the very next minute he will profess...I gotta go potty.

Can anyone share their tricks or just good old fashioned advice for potty training a boy...

We used a sticker chart for Charles and it seemed to work. But I think it's harder to get them to poop...

2Teach your son that if he use the potty, he will receive candy; all children love candy, and he will respond. So every time he uses the potty, give him candy.

4I say throw away the pull ups. They still feel like a diaper to the children. I only use the pull ups at night when my kids went to bed. I bought big boy underwear (which I would let my child pick out which big boy underwear he wanted like barney, spongebob, etc..) and make them wear that all day. They will pee in them but it is a feeling they aren't going to like and eventually get the point.
I also would take mine to the restroom every 15 minutes and get them to at least try. If they did something in the potty they would get a sticker and a m&m. I also kept a potty in the living room because that is where mine would play at the most. After I started doing all that mine were literally trained in 1 week 1/2. I know that the every minutes is hard but it is just called repetion and not giving up. Make it a habit for that is the way they learn.
I had a boy and a girl to train. With my son I tried to make it fun and tell him he was a fireman and that his weewee was his hose and he would wear his little fire helmet (plastic one) and pretend he was putting a fire out in the toilet.

6Sorry I wish I could help but I don't have any children yet.
7I have a six year old and i would keep the pull ups because boys are not fully trained generally until theyre older, so at least keep them for nite time. As for the training itself, you could have him stand in front of the toilet to pee like big boys and when he has to poo you could have him sit and make sure the you know what is tucked into the toilet so theres no accidents. Then you make a big deal like woo hoo over it and he will want to do it like that more often
